Attendant Job Summary
The Laundry Bin is looking for attendants with strong customer service skills who take pride in their customer service, hospitality, and cleaning skills. Attendants are the front line, day-to-day contacts with our customers and must be service-oriented, friendly, and helpful. As an attendant at The Laundry Bin, you will assist self-service customers as needed with instruction on machine use and needed information for a positive overall store experience, process laundry through the Drop Off laundry service, and perform various cleaning functions to maintain a high level of store cleanliness.

Attendant Responsibilities
• Greet customers warmly, thank them for their business
• Be proactive in meeting customer needs
• Answer telephone and assist callers
• Help customers as needed in the use of washers, dryers, vending/coin machines
• Perform retail sales of laundry related products
• Coordinate the receipt, collection, storage, and inventory of all clothing items delivered for Wash and Fold Drop Off service
• Process Wash and Fold Drop Off orders according to customer preferences and strict store procedures. This includes washing,    drying, folding, packaging, and storing items
• Operate store Point of Sale/register for Drop Off orders and retail sales of products
• Perform Shift and Detail cleaning as directed
• Spot clean parking lot
• Restock vending machines and bathroom items as needed
• Clean washer/dryer filters as necessary and wipe down machines frequently
• Report any equipment issues to management
• Ensure store opening and closing procedures are properly followed
• Punctual attendance is required as the Attendant often works independently
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Ability to work well under pressure with a variety of customers and personalities
• Possess strong people skills
• Ability to create and maintain customer relationships
• Work well with co-workers and supervisors while displaying positive work behavior
• Clean, organized, and detail-oriented
• Basic arithmetic and computer skills
• Prior customer service experience preferred, but not required
*The ideal candidate for the attendant position enjoys serving and helping others and has flexible availability. Experience is a plus, but a desire to succeed and be part of an awesome team is mandatory!

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel
• Must be in good physical health and able to perform all functions of the position

Hours, Compensation, and Benefits

Attendants are compensated at an hourly rate determined at hire (currently $17 per hour). In addition to the hourly rate, attendants who have successfully completed a probationary period can receive extra pay through the store bonus structure for processing Drop Off orders.

Attendants qualify for a fixed quantity of free weekly machine use for processing their personal laundry.

The number of hours worked by part-time attendants may vary from week to week but are expected to average 20-30 hours per week (4-6 hours per shift). Shift times worked may be evening or day shift and will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
